As the spouse of a physician and a Realtor for the better part of a decade, I quickly learned of the difficulties that new doctors endure outside of the hospital. Just as you’ve become comfortable with friends, co-workers, colleagues and your community, you’re faced with relocation. After speaking with countless doctors who’ve taken on the stress that accompanies the transitions from medical school to residency, fellowship, and beyond, I realized that even physicians don’t have all the answers. Faced with student loan payments, low salaries, and often un-reimbursed moving costs, many new physicians may become overwhelmed.
